Taxonomy
Platyteichum johnstonei was named by Dickins (1961). Its type specimen is UWA 42115, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Merlinleigh Homestead, 4.5 miles SW, which is in a Kungurian marine sandstone in the Norton Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Glabrocingulum (Stenozone) johnstonei by Swart (1998).
