Taxonomy
Tomiopsis notoplicatus was named by Archbold and Thomas (1986). Its type specimen is CPC 24245, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is BMR WB52, Callytharra Springs, which is in a Sakmarian coastal siliciclastic in the Carrandibby Formation of Australia.
