Enchoteuthis melanae
Taxonomy
Enchoteuthis melanae was named by Miller and Walker (1968). Its type specimen is FHSM 13049 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Near Russell Springs, which is in a Santonian carbonate chalk in the Niobrara Formation of Kansas. It is the type species of Enchoteuthis.
