Taxonomy
Nuculopsis (Nuculanella) bangarraensis was named by Dickins (1963). Its type specimen is UWA 45348, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Fossil Ridge, Irwin River Area, which is in a Sakmarian marine siliciclastic in the Holmwood Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Nuculavus bangarraensis by Yancey (1978); it was recombined as Nuculopsis bangarraensis by Larghi (2005).
