Taxonomy
Elimata guppyi was named by Dickins (1963). Its type specimen is CPC 3939, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is BMR SG120A, Mount Tuckfield, which is in an Artinskian coastal sandstone in the Poole Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Elimata.
