Taxonomy
Warthia intermedia was named by Dickins (1963). Its type specimen is CPC 3979, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is BMR KNuA1, Paraside Homestead, which is in a Sakmarian coastal siliciclastic in the Poole Formation of Australia.
