Taxonomy
Erbenoceras was named by Bogoslovsky (1962) [Sepkoski's age data: D Sieg-l D Emsi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302,457,1103]. It is not extant. Its type is Anetoceras advolvens.

It was reranked as Anetoceras (Erbenoceras) by Shen (1975).

It was assigned to Anetoceras by Shen (1975); to Anarcestida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Anetoceratinae by Korn and Klug (2002) and Korn (2006).
