Taxonomy
Gogoceras was named by Becker et al. (1993) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras-m Sepkoski's reference number: 1042]. It is not extant. Its type is Gogoceras nicolli. It is the type genus of Gogoceratinae.

It was assigned to Anarcestida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Gogoceratinae by Korn and Klug (2002) and Korn (2006).
