Glabrocingulum (Stenozone) costatiformis was named by Swart (1998). Its type specimen is CPC 34944 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is BMR CC89, Wandagee Station, which is in a Kungurian marine siltstone in the Wandagee Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Stenozone costatiformis by Clapham (2015).
