Taxonomy
Captorhinus magnus was named by Kissel et al. (2002). Its type specimen is OMNH 55387, a limb element (complete right femur), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Richards Spur, which is in an Artinskian fissure fill claystone/conglomerate in Oklahoma.
