Taxonomy
Neopharciceras was named by Bogoslovsky (1955) [Sepkoski's age data: D Give-u D Fras-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302,1042]. It is not extant. Its type is Neopharciceras kurbatovi.

It was assigned to Anarcestida by Sepkoski (2002); to Pharciceratidae by Korn and Klug (2002) and Korn (2006); and to Synpharciceratinae by Bockwinkel et al. (2013).
