Cypraea quadripunctata was named by Gray (1827) [Cypraea 4-punctata]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Trivia quadripunctata by Richards et al. (1969); it was recombined as Trivia quadripuntata by Gardiner (2001); it was recombined as Niveria quadripunctata by Hendy et al. (2008).
