Taxonomy
Trimanticoceras was named by House (1977) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras-m D Fras-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302,457,1042]. It is not extant. Its type is Manticoceras cinctum. It is the type genus of Trimanticoceratinae.

It was assigned to Anarcestida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Trimanticoceratinae by Korn and Klug (2002) and Korn (2006).
