Taxonomy
Uchtites was named by Bogoslovsky (1958) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras-m Sepkoski's reference number: 302,457]. It is not extant. Its type is Gephyroceras syrjanicum.

It was assigned to Gephuroceratidae by Yatskov (1990); to Anarcestida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ponticeratinae by Korn and Klug (2002) and Korn (2006).
