Taxonomy
Defordia lobata was named by Finks (1960). Its type specimen is USNM 127608 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM707ha, Lenox Hills, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Skinner Ranch Formation of Texas.
