Taxonomy
Neoplatycrinus miamiaensis was named by Webster and Jell (1992). Its type specimen is CPC 30677, a calyx (Oral plate), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is BMR ML87, Lyndon River, Mia Mia Homestead, which is in an Artinskian marine siliciclastic in the Madeline Formation of Australia.
