Taxonomy
Enteletes gibbosus was named by Chronic (1949). Its type specimen is AMNH 26953/1:4, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AMNH301, Bed 56b, Rasuvilca Hills section 9, Pajege Canyon, which is in an Asselian/Sakmarian marine limestone in Peru.
