Taxonomy
Beleutoceras was named by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971) [Sepkoski's age data: C Serp-l Sepkoski's reference number: 304]. Its type is Beleutoceras carinatum.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Nomismoceratidae by Korn (2006) and Furnish et al. (2009).
