Taxonomy
Orestes pagoda was named by Newell (1935). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wann, which is in a Missourian marine shale in the Wann Formation of Oklahoma.

It was recombined as Borestus pagoda by Chronic (1953) and Karapunar and Nützel (2022).
