Manicina jungi was named by Budd and Johnson (1999). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NMB Loc. 16821 - Rio Cana [Gurabo Fm], which is in a Messinian coastal sandstone/limestone in the Gurabo Formation of the Dominican Republic.
