Kirkospira tongassensis
Taxonomy
Baichtalia tongassensis was named by Rohr and Blodgett (2008). Its type specimen is USNM 528224, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 2002RB32, which is in a Ludlow carbonate wackestone/packstone in the Heceta Limestone Formation of Alaska. It is the type species of Baichtalia.
It was recombined as Kirkospira tongassensis by Wagner (2023).
