Taxonomy
Docoderma papillosum was named by Finks (1960). Its type specimen is PU 78885 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is PU1rc, Apache Canyon, Sierra Diablo, which is in a Kungurian slope limestone in the Bone Spring Formation of Texas.
