Taxonomy
Cravenoceratoides was named by Hudson (1941) [Sepkoski's age data: C Serp-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Goniatites nitidus.

It was assigned to Nuculoceratinae by Titus (2000); to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Ramositidae by Korn (2006); and to Cravenoceratinae by Furnish et al. (2009).
