Taxonomy
Paracomatulidae was named by Hess (1950). It is not extant. Its type is Paracomatula. It is the type family of Paracomatuloidea.

It was assigned to Comatulidina by Hagdorn and Campbell (1993); and to Paracomatuloidea by Hess and Messing (2011) and Hess (2012).
