It was recombined as Fimbria mellingi by von Wöhrmann (1889); it was recombined as Gonodon mellingii by Bittner (1901); it was recombined as Gonodon mellingi by Broili (1904); it was recombined as Sphaeriola mellingi by Parona (1904); it was recombined as Schafhaeutlia mellingi by Zapfe (1972), Bychkov et al. (1976) and Szente et al. (2010).
