Longipterygidae was named by Zhang et al. (2000). It is not extant.
It was assigned to Longipterygiformes by Zhang et al. (2000) and Zhang et al. (2001); to Enantiornithes by O'Connor et al. (2009); and to Enantiornithes by O'Connor et al. (2011), O'Connor et al. (2011), Li et al. (2012), Wang et al. (2014), Zhang et al. (2014) and Wang et al. (2014).
It was assigned to Longipterygiformes by Zhang et al. (2000) and Zhang et al. (2001); to Enantiornithes by O'Connor et al. (2009); and to Enantiornithes by O'Connor et al. (2011), O'Connor et al. (2011), Li et al. (2012), Wang et al. (2014), Zhang et al. (2014) and Wang et al. (2014).
