Taxonomy
Neopteroplax conemaughensis was named by Romer (1963). Its type specimen is USNM 20636, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bloomingdale, Jefferson County, which is in a Stephanian terrestrial horizon in Ohio.
