Isodectes obtusus
Taxonomy
Dendrerpeton obtusum was named by Cope (1868). Its type specimen is AMNH 6928, a partial skull (palate), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Linton, which is in a Westphalian D mire/swamp coal in Ohio.
It was recombined as Tuditanus obtusus by Cope (1875) and Hay (1902); it was recombined as Saurerpeton obtusum by Romer (1947); it was recombined as Isodectes obtusus by Sequeira (1998), Schoch (2013) and Schoch and Milner (2014).
