H. F. Filkorn and J. Pantoja-Alor 2004 | Corallum colonial, attached(?), ramose. Colony formation by extratentacular budding. Corallites small, monocentric, dimorphic. Each branch of corallum composed of a single vertically continuous axial corallite with numerous smaller secondary or daughter corallites budded laterally and arrayed radially from axis of branch. Septa laminar, imperforate, typically hexamerally arrayed in three complete cycles, with pairs of S4 sometimes present. Weakly developed or incipient Pourtale`s plan septal arrangement often in S4. Columella weakly developed, trabecular or loosely spongy. Pali(?) or paliform lobes(?) may be present on S2. Wall synapticulothecate. Endothecal dissepiments absent. Coenosteum reticulate, relatively thick, extensive. Coenosteal surfaces granular, porous, weakly costate or striate, spinose. |
