Taxonomy
Blastozopsammia guerreroterion was named by Filkorn and Pantoja-Alor (2004). Its type locality is Chumbitaro, MP 18, which is in an Albian/Cenomanian perireef or subreef wackestone in the Mal Paso Formation of Mexico. It is the type species of Blastozopsammia.
