Leda pandoraeformis was named by Stevens (1858). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Polidevcia pandoraeformis by Driscoll (1965); it was recombined as Phestia pandoraeformis by Hoare (1993) and Hoare (2007).

Hoare 1993Phestia with narrowly rostrate posterior margin; beaks opisthogyrate, located near midlength; lunule and escutcheon not observed; surface ornamentation of numerous, closely spaced, comarginal lirae (10-12 per mm); hingement of at least three denticles anterior to beak and five posterior to beak; adductor scars not pronounced, anterior scar suboval, posterior scar subquadrate, located on umbonal ridge; resilifer not seen; a faint, arcuate groove extends posteroventrally from the umbo on internal molds.
