Hoare 1993Nuculopsis with thick, convex valves; beaks strongly incurved and opisthogyrate; posterior margin sharply rounded; ventral margin straight to slightly sinuate posteriorly, curving uniformly into anterior margin, the latter more sharply rounded where it curves into dorsal margin; beaks extend well above hingeline; surface marked by fine, closely spaced, comarginal growth lines and several more distinct, widely spaced, growth increments; umbos inflated with greatest width of shell above midheight; hingement of nine chevron-shaped teeth posterior to beak and seven larger teeth anterior to it; adductor scars deeply impressed; pallial line present.
