It was synonymized subjectively with Eohyattoceras by Furnish et al. (2009).
It was assigned to Vidrioceratidae by Leonova (2002); to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Vidrioceratinae by Bogoslovskaya (1990) and Korn (2006); and to Hyattoceratidae by Leonova (2018).
