Mangeroceras was named by Sturgeon et al. (1982) [Sepkoski's age data: C Mosc-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Wiedeyoceratidae by Korn (2006) and Furnish et al. (2009).
