Varanosaurus acutirostris
Taxonomy
Varanosaurus acutirostris was named by Broili (1904). Its type specimen is BSPHM 1901 XV 20, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Craddock Bonebed, Brush Creek, 38 (Arroyo Formation), which is in a Kungurian terrestrial claystone/sandstone in the Arroyo Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Varanosaurus.
