Taxonomy
Oxytornoceras was named by Becker (1993) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1042]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Tornoceratinae by Korn and Klug (2002), Korn (2006), Bockwinkel et al. (2013) and Bockwinkel et al. (2013).
