Cutleria wilmarthi
Taxonomy
Cutleria wilmarthi was named by Lewis and Vaughn (1965). Its type specimen is USNM 22099, a partial skeleton (a fractured, fairly complete skull along with a partial vertebral column, ribs, and several girdle and limb elements), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Placerville Localities 3 + 4, which is in a Wolfcampian fluvial-lacustrine siliciclastic/conglomerate in the Cutler Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Cutleria.
