Taxonomy
Propopanoceras was named by Toumansky (1938) [Sepkoski's age data: P Sakm-l P Sakm-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Popanoceras lahuseni.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Popanoceratidae by Leonova (2002), Korn (2006) and Furnish et al. (2009).
