Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
R. D. Hoare 1993Streblochondria with valves higher than long; auricles, with the exception of the posterior auricle on the right valve, costate; body costae closely spaced, somewhat irregular, beginning near midheight.

Streblochondria of medium size, higher than long; slightly opisthocline, prosocline in early growth stages; hingeline shorter than length; left valve more convex than right valve; posterior auricle set off by steep umbonal slope, margin sulcate, surface with 5-6 low costae; anterior auricle set off by deep groove, surface with eight narrow costae, some of which bifurcate; anterior valve margin gently convex, extending anteriorly to hingeline; body ornamented with numerous closely spaced (4-5 in 2 mm), somewhat irregular costae originating about midheight; right valve with deep byssal notch separating large anterior auricle with 5-7 costae crossed by closely spaced growth lines; small posterior auricle smooth, not distinctly set off from body; surface of body with numerous closely spaced costae crossed by fine growth lines.
