Taxonomy
Dromomeryx (Subdromomeryx) was named by Frick (1937). It is not extant. Its type is Dromomeryx (Subdromomeryx) scotti.

It was synonymized subjectively with Dromomeryx by Morea (1981); it was reranked as Subdromomeryx by Prothero and Liter (2007) and Prothero and Liter (2008).

It was assigned to Dromomeryx by Frick (1937); and to Dromomerycini by Prothero and Liter (2007) and Prothero and Liter (2008).

1; Fig. 10); molars more mesodont; premolar row shorter, and Palaeomeryx fold usually lost. Supraorbital horns relatively smaller, with basal flange less pronounced, and limbs relatively longer and more slender than those of Dromomeryx (after Janis and Manning, 1998, p. 483).
