Taxonomy
Pediomeryx hamiltoni was named by Webb (1983). Its type locality is Love Bone Bed, which is in a Clarendonian marginal marine horizon in the Alachua Formation of Florida.

It was recombined as Yumaceras hamiltoni by Prothero and Liter (2007) and Prothero and Liter (2008).
