Taxonomy
Svetlanoceras was named by Ruzhentsev (1974) [Sepkoski's age data: P Asse-l P Sakm-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. Its type is Uraloceras serpentinum.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Paragastrioceratidae by Leonova (2002); and to Paragastrioceratinae by Korn (2006), Furnish et al. (2009) and Zhou (2017).
