Syngastrioceras was named by Librovitch (1938) [Sepkoski's age data: C Serp-l C u Sepkoski's reference number: 302,304]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Neoicoceratinae by Titus (2000); to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Glaphyritinae by Titus (1997) and Furnish et al. (2009); and to Glaphyritidae by Korn (2006) and Korn and Sudar (2016).
