Taxonomy
Synuraloceras was named by Ruzhencev (1952) [Sepkoski's age data: P Sakm]. It is not extant. Its type is Synuraloceras carinatum.

It was assigned to Paragastrioceratidae by Leonova (2002); to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Paragastrioceratinae by Korn (2006) and Furnish et al. (2009).
