Taxonomy
Turbinaria durhami was named by Frost and Langenheim (1974). Its type locality is Pueblo Nuevo reef, Chiapas, Mexico, which is in a Chattian reef, buildup or bioherm framestone in the La Quinta Formation of Mexico.
