Taxonomy
Trizonoceras was named by Girty (1909) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-u C Serp-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302,304]. It is not extant. Its type is Trizonoceras typicale.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Dimorphoceratinae by Korn (2006) and Furnish et al. (2009).
