Taxonomy
Acropora panamensis was named by Vaughan (1919). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Loc. 6024b - Rio Agua Salud [Emperador Limestone], which is in an Aquitanian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Culebra Formation of Panama.
