Taxonomy
Ulemosaurus was named by Riabinin (1938). It is not extant. Its type is Ulemosaurus svijagensis.

It was synonymized subjectively with Moschops by Ivakhnenko (1983).

It was assigned to Tapinocephalini by King (1988); to Tapinocephalidae by Battail and Surkov (2000); and to Ulemosauridae by Ivakhnenko (2003) and Ivakhnenko (2008).
