Taxonomy
Madygella was named by Rasnitsyn (1969). Its type is Madygella analoga. It is the type genus of Madygellinae.
It was assigned to Xyelidae by Carpenter (1992); and to Madygellinae by Rasnitsyn (1969), Taeger et al. (2010), Kopylov (2014) and Oyama and Maeda (2020).
