Costirhynchopsis mentzeli
Taxonomy
Terebratula mentzelii was named by von Buch (1843). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Friedrichshütte, Tarnowitz, which is in a Pelsonian marine carbonate in the Karchowice Formation of Poland.
It was recombined as Rhynchonella mentzelii by Bittner (1890); it was recombined as Rhynchonella mentzeli by Siblik (1971); it was recombined as Costirhynchia mentzeli by Dagys (1974); it was recombined as Costirhynchopsis mentzeli by Pálfy (1988) and Palfy (2003).
